About

m-bike.org was started in the late-1990s as an advocacy platform with the following mission:

To develop an urban multi-use path system using existing streets which follows the Woodward Corridor thru Southeast Oakland County. The path should:

  • Be relatively safe, especially with regards to motor vehicle interaction
  • Be well marked, simple, and easy to follow
  • Connect local landmarks, especially those associated with recreation, education, local history, and commercial services of special interest to path users

Over time, that mission grew to become an bike and trail advocacy voice for Southeast Michigan.

While much of the content on this site is relatively old, it does provide an interesting historical perspective.
